Euphrosynos, the Greek Orthodox patron saint of cooks, was noted for his humility, piety and aversion to praise. In the eighth century, he left his monastery in Palestine, where he served as cook, and hid in the desert to escape the esteem of his brothers. This all came about because of a dream one of the monks had about him.
An interesting tale. Look him up. Meanwhile, his icon looks down over Jane Ella's kitchen, where I am allowed to trespass occasionally and bake a loaf or two. Unlike Brother Euphrosynos, I soak up all the compliments I can get.
