Down in the Glen...

Now into its second year, the hügelkultur glen looks like a place of belonging rather than a trash dump. The English Holly will be liberated from her pot and moved down there this week to join the native azaleas and Turk's Cap lilies already in place among native ferns, flowering plants and Christmas tree graduates.

Our little Glen has become a refuge for creatures human and otherwise. A place to rest and wonder and know and be known. We cannot be there without thinking of the fierce and gentle soul who inspired the project. I hope I have enough candle left to see it grow through a few more years yet, and lend my battered pair of old hands to the process.
