August ran right through September into October this year. Then, on October 5th, the high temperature dropped thirty degrees from the day before, and I went out into the misty rain and gleaned the remainder of the basil. The sudden arrival of seasonal weather finished it.
So, a last little batch of pesto to make our fall a bit tastier, fortify our remembrance of summer green. We look forward to a greenly fall as well. The cool moist days have excited the kale, spinach, beets and chard we sowed late.
