Gleanings...

Gleanings are all to be had from the garden right now. Fall plantings and winter plantings went undone while we waited for several who promised to come take down the dead cherry tree in the middle of our veggie plot. Finally, our friend Georgia introduced us to a certified arborist who had his crew on site within a week. They made a couple of hours work of it.

Since, I've been splitting the wood they left, and waiting for the ground to dry enough to prepare beds for asparagus crowns. Though it was too wet to dig, I liberated this bunch of spring onion volunteers from the muck. We met them again in a salad that evening.

Henry's books.
